Accessibility Statement

Last updated: January 5, 2026

The California Library Association (CLA) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all individuals, including people with disabilities. We strive to make the CLA Conference website (cla-conference.org) accessible and usable for all visitors, including library professionals, educators, students, exhibitors, and community partners.

As California’s premier conference for library professionals, we believe access to conference information, registration, program materials, and event updates should be inclusive and equitable.

Our Commitment

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines provide recognized standards for improving web accessibility for individuals with visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor disabilities.

Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we are continually working to improve the user experience for all website visitors.

Ongoing Efforts

We regularly review our website to identify and address potential accessibility barriers and incorporate accessibility best practices into new content, event materials, and updates.

While we strive for broad accessibility, some third-party platforms — such as registration systems, proposal submission portals, exhibitor portals, payment processors, or embedded content — may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We encourage users to contact us if they encounter accessibility challenges with any portion of the conference website or related platforms.

Website Accessibility Features

Where possible, we support accessibility through:

  • Descriptive alternative text for images

  • Clear headings and logical page structure

  • Readable fonts and consistent navigation

  • Sufficient color contrast between text and background

  • Keyboard-accessible navigation

  • Compatibility with commonly used assistive technologies such as screen readers and speech recognition software

Conference Accessibility

The CLA Conference is committed to fostering an inclusive environment. Information regarding on-site accessibility accommodations (such as mobility access, communication access, or other support services) will be provided in advance of the event. Attendees who require accommodations are encouraged to contact us as early as possible so arrangements can be discussed.
